Gerardo Juárez, an essential role at Cathopic. What exactly does Gerardo Juárez contribute to the team?

Hello, you can call me Gerardo, and I live in Mexico. I've been a full-time professional photographer for the past 12 years. At Cathopic, I am responsible for moderating the resources that creators submit to the platform.

How did you discover Cathopic and when did you join the team?

I've been working at Cathopic since February 2023, and I learned about Cathopic through an article on a Catholic website. I started submitting my work, and one day, I reached out to Cathopic's CEO to offer my services to the company. He contacted me, we had a conversation, and I ended up working here.

Tell us about your home and your other interests apart from Cathopic.

I live in Monterrey, Mexico, and besides from Cathopic, I work as a full-time photographer, I am a father, and coordinate a children's Mass group.

Can you describe a typical day at Cathopic for you?

I start by reviewing the resources that have come in and then begin moderating them according to the company's quality policies. I also correct the tags on the resources because it's crucial that they are well-written, as they assist platform visitors in resource searches. Additionally, if necessary, I get in touch with creators if they need support with their resources.

Who do you mainly work with in your team?

I mainly work with Dimitri, the CEO, and Cesar, who works in marketing and content.

What makes working at Cathopic so enjoyable for you?

I enjoy working at Cathopic because I get to see the work of Catholic videographers, designers, and photographers – creative individuals who use their talents in service to God and the Church.

What do you like most about working at Cathopic?

It challenges me every day to become a better photographer. By reviewing hundreds of photographs and videos each week, I can appreciate the high quality that others bring to their work.

What are you currently working on at Cathopic?

I am a content moderator.

What kind of music do you enjoy listening to while working?

In general, I listen to rock music from the '90s, and sometimes instrumental music from movies or video games. I also enjoy some Christian music once in a while.
